I’ve had a lovely, relaxing week away in the Lake District. We were so lucky because the weather was kind to us even though before we went the forecast was for rain all week! We’ve learnt to never plan what we’re doing based on the weather forecast or we’d never do anything! Now fully recharged I’m back to all things equity release.

Yesterday, I attended a Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) networking event at the Kyte Yorkshire Business Centre in Darrington. I've had a lovely time in Buxton in the Peak District this weekend celebrating my wedding anniversary (22 years) and my birthday (61 years). Lovely scenery (if you've never walked to the top of Solomon's Temple in Buxton, the view is well worth the effort!😁), great company, and delicious food. It was great to visit the We Are Wakefield Expo today and catch up with some old friends and meet some new people. Well done to CLAIRE Sutherley DL and her team for organising a great event showcasing some of the brilliant businesses and charities that Wakefield has to offer. I’ve have a lovely extended working break in the sun. It’s certainly the best office I’ve ever worked from! It was great to be able to keep on to of my work whilst also balancing having time to relax and enjoy the warmer climes.

Having worked in financial services for over 40 years, the last 16 of which have been with equity release, I have a lot of knowledge and experience in how people think about money, planning, and wellbeing in later life.

I had a great day yesterday at the Later Life Lending Summit in the beautiful Cutler’s Hall, Sheffield – hosted by The Equity Release Council in collaboration with The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries . The event brought together lenders, surveyors, solicitors and, of course, my later life lending adviser peers. It was a brilliant opportunity to stay updated on the latest innovations and share ideas about the future of equity release and later life lending as a whole

I spent a lovely couple of hours this morning volunteering for this year’s Poppy Appeal 🌺 It was wonderful meeting so many kind people at Tesco Pontefract , all supporting such a meaningful cause. These events are such a valuable way to stay fully up to date with the latest developments, innovations, and standards in later life lending.
