Aligned: A Day of Mindset, Money and Wellbeing

I always enjoy attending events that bring people together to share ideas and experiences, especially when they explore different aspects of life. Aligned: The Women’s Event – Mindset, Money and Wellbeing, held in Saltaire yesterday, did exactly that.

The event was the vision of Nidhi Kapoor, who managed to bring it all together brilliantly in just two and a half months – an incredible achievement. I was kindly invited by Anny Lian, who was also one of the inspiring speakers on the day. Each talk offered thought-provoking ideas and practical insights that could be put into action straight away – a refreshing balance of inspiration and real-world advice.

Alongside the talks, there was a diverse mix of stalls offering exclusive treats, mini gifts and friendly conversations, creating a vibrant atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to connect. We also enjoyed a nutritious lunch prepared by Wheely Indian Food, which added to the relaxed and positive feel of the day.

And to top it all off, I was lucky enough to win one of the ten fantastic prizes that were up for grabs!

Having worked in financial services for over 40 years, the last 16 of which have been with equity release, I have a lot of knowledge and experience in how people think about money, planning, and wellbeing in later life. Events like this are a wonderful reminder of the importance of listening, understanding, and providing people with the knowledge, time and space to make the right decisions for themselves.

It was a day filled with learning, connection, and a genuine sense of community. I’ll definitely be looking out for the next event in 2026, and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys personal growth, meeting new people, and being part of something uplifting.

Equity release may involve a home reversion plan or a lifetime mortgage, which is secured against your property and will reduce the value of your estate and impact funding long-term care.

Equity release requires paying off any existing mortgage. Any money released, plus accrued interest would be repaid upon death, or moving into long-term care.

Advice is required to proceed with equity release and there may be other options which better suit your circumstances.

We provide initial advice for free and without obligation. Only if your case completes would our advice fee of £1,695 be payable. Other lender and solicitor fees may apply.
